The Mostviertler Hauszwetschge (Plume) comes from the heart of the Mostviertel. The plums are hand picked, without stems, and the pit is removed carefully. Thus the pure, intense plum taste is retained. The plum mash is fermented under controlled temperature conditions and, after distilling, adjusted to a cask strength of 60% alcohol. This brandy matures in oak barrels for at least a year. Aroma: The result is impressive: Harmonious and elegant fragrance, delicate plum notes, finely spicy wood fragrance of vanilla and tobacco. Very juicy and elegant, fine plum fruit on the palate with a beautiful wooden sweetness. Very long, spicy finish.
The oak barrel or barrique is not only used for wine, but also to expand whiskey and fine brandies. As a rule, the barrique barrel is assigned the Bordelais ship size of 225 liters. Originally, the relatively small barrique was used for exporting wine to England. The barrels were burned on the inside because fire was needed to bend the staves. This toasting gives it the distinctive aroma. Common to all products made in wooden barrels is a certain amount of oxidation, because wood remains an active material.
The distillery's own spring water runs through granite rock and gneisses of the Bohemian granite mass.
