For this Organic Premium Rum only the pure organic sugar cane molasses, sourced from overseas, is fermented and then distilled. After that O • Rum needs a lot of time for its resting phase - afterwards it is adjusted to 40 percent alcohol by volume with the crystal clear primary rock water from the destillery's own spring. The O • Rum gets its color from the storage in the barrel; the longer it is stored, the more rounded its aromatic flavor appears. The initially colorless distillate takes on a yellowish, then brown color. Brown rum is aromatic and has a rather sweet note with a fine wooden note. Rum is often stored in used wooden barrels to give it its own flavor. This O • Rum is stored in a very special way that only the Farthofer distillery can offer: The rum is stored in used Mostello barrels during its long rest period. Farthofer's unique, award-winning Mostello, a pear dessert wine made from cider pears, matured in these barrels. This leaves behind the seductive aromas of the cider pear during storage. The lively bouquet and the honey-vanilla notes of this famous Mostello give this brown rum its unique and incomparable aroma.
The own spring water flows through a granite rock and gneisses of the Bohemian granite mass.
